My name is Oloruntosin Renyke Damyete Fashanu — and I was pronounced dead on November 15, 2017. I didn't go quietly. After multiple organ failure, I spent months in a coma, on a ventilator, and on ECMO — a machine that breathed for me when my own body couldn't. My family held vigils. My community raised funds.
